If they are have them just be in one, I don't need to see them getting back together after a break up. I don't really care if Isaac and Ellie are in a relationship or not. So Dead Space 3, how do we go about this?Ĭut the love triangle shit, you don't need romance subplot in Dead Space. Do you reincorporate this ending into the game?ĥ) the other Dead Space story strands, Severed, Lexi, the Dead Space 4 hints? Could Motive basically make this a do-over and radically change the finale of Isaac’s story?Ĥ) Awakened as a DLC ending instead of in the actual game. There’s an interview with Eurogamer and Ben Wanat about how EA’s business interests injects co-op, making the game more action-heavy, and micro transactions. There were originally ideas for a Shadow Isaac concept among others and more themes pulled from films like “The Thing”, but this ultimately wasn’t realized. How would this work?ģ) the developers’ early narrative concepts were jettisoned for EA mandates re: co-op. The first remake and a potential second one would have a semi-open world with quests and it’s a contiguous uncut/unbroken narrative experience. There’s the opening colony, the Lunar base, the Flotilla, and back to the abandoned colony. There are 2-3 protagonists (prologue guy, Isaac, and Carver).Ģ) Non-contiguous locales. That’s all reasonable to expect based on how they’ve structured this remake.īut the third one presents the highest risks and opportunities to work on a remake for a number of reasons:ġ) Multiple protagonists. Maybe we get The Sprawl as a fully explorable station ala Sevastopol in Alien: Isolation, we see more from Teidemann and other villains, we get even more depth to the combat systems, etc. If we get lucky and get a Dead Space 2 remake, I think the overall game stays the same since the narrative and pacing is already rock solid. I think it’s a more interesting exercise looking at Dead Space 3 than Dead Space 2.
